About Bianca

Bianca Limpus is a Psychologist with full membership of the Australian Association of Psychologists. She completed her training at the University of New England and the University of Canberra. She has worked in emergency and community clinical settings in the public system in rural NSW and Brisbane, as well as private practice in Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Bianca has recently completed a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy in addition to completing both level 1 and 2 complex trauma certification

Bianca has strong interests in the diagnosis and treatment of borderline personality disorder and complex trauma. She has considerable training in multiple psychotherapeutic modalities, including dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), radically open dialectical behaviour therapy (RO DBT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy, in addition to trauma specific treatments.

Bianca provides a high quality of care within an evidenced based practice and trauma focused approach as well as being guided by the latest research and techniques in mental health. She fosters an empathetic environment, which combined with her experience, can help you to achieve your goals for therapy. 

Bianca has extensive experience and has developed advanced skills in the diagnosis, treatment and management of borderline personality disorder, including the development, provision and management of DBT programs. She has worked with individuals who meet the diagnostic criteria of BPD for over ten years and is passionate about creating a life worth living. She is currently focusing on the provision of DBT in an individual therapeutic setting.

Bianca has a special interest in anxiety disorders and uses a multi-modality approach to personalise the treatment to the individual and their needs. As a person-centred therapist, Bianca uses a collaborative treatment approach to identify and achieve therapy goals. She has significant experience in all mood based disorders with a particular interest in Generalised Anxiety Disorder.

Bianca is passionate about remaining highly skilled and undertakes regular intervention specific clinical supervision and professional development well above the requirements for registration and membership. She has undertaken training with Marsha Linehan (DBT founder) both in Australia and America and engages in self directed study to stay abreast of developments in the field. Additionally, Bianca is currently undertaking a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy to add to her current skills base.

Bianca offers Non-directional Pregnancy Support Counselling.  This Medicare scheme gives rebates for up to three sessions with a referral when the person has had a pregnancy within the last twelve months (current or recent). These sessions are available in addition to the ten sessions currently subsidised by Medicare under the Better Access to Mental Health scheme.

Bianca believes in taking a client-centred skills and evidenced-based approach to therapy with her clients, and can assist them in improving distress tolerance, emotion regulation, interpersonal, and mindfulness skills, and developing acceptance in the course of their recovery. 

Bianca accepts referrals for older adolescents and adults with emerging or diagnosed personality disorders, trauma and anxiety disorders. She is eligible for rebates through Medicare and Private Health Insurance. Bianca is experienced in the provision of services under  WorkCover and for service men and women in the ADF (through Garrison Health).

Bianca is a fully accredited Psychologist trainee supervisor (STAP trained) and is accepting provisionally registered psychologists who require supervision to meet the general registration pathway criteria.
