Anxiety disorders is a broad term that covers a range of anxiety based problems, which in adults includes:

o    Specific Phobia

o    Social Anxiety Disorder 

o    Panic Disorder

o    Agoraphobia

o    Generalized Anxiety Disorder

o    Substance/Medication-Induced Anxiety Disorder

o    Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder

o    Hoarding Disorder

o    Trichotillimania (Hair Pulling) or Excoriation (Skin Picking) Disorder

o    Adjustment Disorder

Treatments for anxiety based disorders vary based on the disorder and the difficulties the person is experiencing. Therapeutic approaches often include a combination of exposure therapy, mindfulness, cognitive behavioural therapy, behavioural activation and problem solving. Treatment also involves relapse prevention through identifying triggers and maintaining factors for the disorder or symptoms which helps to achieve lasting change.
